For the second time, the eSports Award recognizes the achievement of Scene Journalists. With this specific eSports Award we honour the performance of eSports writers, enhancing the horizon of their readers with entertaining and worthwhile pieces of journalism. For the first time ever, we will also award the best eSports photo of the year. We now announce details of the submission of articles and photos.

The Award for eSports Photo of the year will be handed out before the ceremony at Games Convention as part of a slate of online-only eSports Awards that honor specific achievements, that have not made it into limelight of the Awards yet. The full list of categories will be announced on Monday, July 7th.

General Rules of Submission

- Journalists and photographers may send in their own work or be suggested as a nominee by their recipients.

- Multiple works by the same author may be submitted, but we advise to preselect the best article or photo in order to increase chances of nomination.

- Entries need to be sent via e-mail to contact@esports-award.org. The e-mail has to contain at least the e-mail address, full name and nickname of the author of the submitted work. Further contact details and postal address are welcome.

- Articles and photos need to be submitted until July 7th, 2008. To be eligible, the article needs to be published during the time of eligibility, namely July 16th, 2007, and July 5th, 2008.

Special Rules of Submission: Scene Journalist Award

- The name of the website and the exact web link to where the article has been published is required. If the link is no longer available, a short explanation has to be given.

- The original articles have to be attached to the e-mail in either .txt, .doc or .odt format.

- Articles not in the English language have to be translated into English by the sender. The translation can also be published online, but publication is no requirement. It has to be attached to the e-mail though or be delivered later until the end of the submission term on July 7th, 2008. Foreign language article without English translation will not be considered for nominations.

- With submission the author grants the eSports Award the right to republish the article in English language on its website in case of a nomination in order
to permit a fair and transparent voting process. All other rights remain with the author or rights holder.

Special Rules of Submission: eSports Photo of the Year

- The submitted photo may be digitally enhanced.

- The submitted photo file has to include the full IPTC header stating information about exact shooting time and settings used. Additionally, every photo needs a proper title and information about where it was shot.

- Submitting photos in their original resolution is strongly encouraged.

- With submission the author grants the eSports Award the right to republish the photo on its website in case of a nomination in order to permit a fair and transparent voting process. The author also grants right to publish a printed version of the photo in conncetion with the eSports Award Ceremony at Games Convention. All other rights remain with the author or rights holder.

Voting Process

- Nominations are based on one single piece of work.

- Articles and photos chosen for a nomination will be published on the eSports Award website.

- Any author may only be nominated once for each of the two awards in any given year.

- Five articles and five photos will be nominated. The eSports Award reserves the right to increase the number of nominees in any given year in case of a broad spectrum of outstanding works submitted.
