Regional eSports Player of the Year
From this year we will add even more authority to the voting of the “eSports Player of the Year“. We subdivide the “eSports Player of the Year“ award into seven regional awards: North America, South America, China, Korea, Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Northern Europe. The public polls will be held on the biggest and most prestigious eSport pages of all seven regions.
Every eSport page votes only the nominees of its affiliated region. The seven winners of the regional polls will be nominated for the worldwide “eSports Player of the Year“ and will be crowned at the Games Convention in August. The polls of the Regional eSports Player of the Year are open until Monday, the 7th of July.

Since 2004, the eSports Award has become the most prestigious accolade available in eSports. The Award is designed to give athletes, teams, journalists and developers involved in eSports proper recognition for their work and sportsmanship. Only the best of the best are honoured with the prize. Among the winners are renowned players like Grubby, Potti, f0rest, Vo0, Kapio and Sweet, as well as teams like SK Gaming, fnatic and 4Kings.

We will announce all categories of the eSports Award 2008 and their nominees within the next weeks.
