On Saturday, August 23th, the eSports Award will be handed out for the fifth time since 2004. At 8 pm CET this year's prize-winners will be honored in an emotional ceremony with heart-breaking speeches, show acts and tension in everyone's face. James '2GD' Harding will be the host and guide trough the eSports Award 2008 Ceremony. Furthermore prominent laudators will hand out awards to the best eSports player of the last year.

This year we will see Johnathan 'Fatal1ty' Wendel again. 2007 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Mark Rein, co-founder of Epic and head of the Unreal Tournament series, hands out an award as well as Holly Kreie, Marketing Manager Gaming Intel. Hans-Jürgern Werner, Intel's Chief of Corporate Communications, Mark Olbertz, Community Manager of Blizzard Europe and Vincent Cheung, CEO of China eSports Interactive, will also honor the best perfomances in eSports.
